What Possessed Us To Open Wine?

It was the best of times: We were having dinner to celebrate our neighbor’s great new job. It was the worst of times: That job is in Houston. The good news is that they are not selling their house and moving, but he is commuting. It will be hard for them, but this is a great opportunity for them. We should definitely open wine!

What Did The Label Want Us To Know?

Well, it’s from Lodi, so that’s good. And the words they used to describe it are all words I love: coffee, vanilla, black currants, licorice, clove. They say it is worthy of cellaring for 5-7 years, yeah, like THAT’S going to happen!!!

What’s So Great About It?

Zibigniew said (yes, that’s his name-imagine heavy Polish accent!) “I don’t comment on wine- I drink it!” with gusto!! But then he went on to comment, because he has an opinion on everything. He said nice aroma, could feel it on the back of his throat. David said it was heavy and full. Ewa said (thick Polish accent) that she could take a bath in it, it smells so good! She also said it was heavy and it didn’t take much to make her feel warm and fuzzy. As for me, of course, I loved it!

Fantasy This Wine Engendered:

I live in a communist country. My husband gets thrown in jail as a political prisoner. We cannot buy any good wine there so, after he gets out, we immigrate to the USA. We go on to become very successful and can buy all the good Lodi, California wine we want! SCORE! (oh, wait, this is Ewa’s story!)

Conversation This Wine Engendered:

Since Z will be near water, he will finally buy a fishing rod.

I cut my lettuce up with scissors because Cynthia does.

Apple needs to sponsor Fish The Baja.

Ewa cooked meat for me!!!
