What Possessed Us To Open Wine?

Old Friends for dinner. I mean OLD. Actually, they are younger than we are, but we have been friends for almost 25 years. They still want to come over and drink wine with us. It’s a miracle.

What Did The Label Want Us To Know?

Maybe winning the award for most creative (or possibly weirdest) label ever, Root 1 almost looks like a work of art. History of Chile and wine included using such words as European rootstocks and ungrafted. They include the drama of the dreaded Phylloxera Disease and why Chile’s climate and position was optimal to the preservation of these original roots. Wow. I feel like this is the most interesting info I have ever gotten from a wine bottle’s label.

What’s So Great About It?

Enne thought it was really dry and Bob agreed: dry but enjoyable. He wouldn’t want it any dryer but would buy this wine. David said it was not too dry for him and he thought it was medium bodied and consistent. I love a dry wine, so, of course, happy.

Someone Else’s More Qualified Opinion:

Conversation This Wine Engendered:

We love Trader Joe’s. Who does not?

Empty nester life or maybe not quite

Controlling or more accurately: NOT controlling the pain of our kids

Can we just do Twitter Church?

Nicely Balanced Cab
by: Anonymous

We grilled a steak tonight and paired it with Root 1 Cabernet. The wine was light in style rather than a robust cab. It was nicely balanced with a pleasing nose and subtle cab flavor characteristics. All in all it was a very pleasant, drinkable wine that we enjoyed.
