What Possessed Us To Open Wine?

We were participating in an Australian wine tasting. Rick Bakas set it up and people all over the world just had to pick a wine from a certain valley and comment on it on Twitter. On this night, the valley was The Barossa Valley. I picked Chocolate Box wine because… CHOCOLATE. Who could resist?

What Did The Label Want Us To Know?

Well, right on the front it says 2007 Dark Chocolate, because apparently the word Chocolate at the top by itself was not enough. We needed to add a descriptor! DARK. Even MORE irresistible.

They compare fine chocolate in a box to this fine wine in a bottle. They even call it “Your own liquid candy.” This might my favorite description of a wine EVER!

What’s So Great About It?

David thought it had a nice oak taste and possibly apple with a smooth finish. Jessica thought: something fruity. I thought it would go well with chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

Fantasy This Wine Engendered?

I am not on a low carb diet. I can eat all the sugar infused chocolate that I want whenever I want it. Actually, in a national lottery, I win all of Godiva. I mean, I OWN every outlet and the main factory. The whole chocolate world of Godiva. The Godiva Fairy (bet you didn’t know there was one) picks out the exact truffle to go along with whatever wine I am drinking. I eat a coconut truffle with Chocolate Box Shiraz. Awesome.

Conversation This Wine Engendered?

Chocolate is excellent with Chocolate Box which sounds redundant

Does anyone ever NOT dread the plane flight down under?

Screw tops on wine just making opening it that much easier and faster
