Enjoying Thanksgiving Wine
We had a fun Thanksgiving here in New Hampshire. While many begin the day with a traditional backyard football game, our gang selected to do a bit of go-Kart racing on the newly paved loop in our neighborhood. The temperature was in the 40s, so the hardy ones in our family who selected to participate were happy to see the roaring fire in the fireplace when they returned.
Our extended family of 13 sat together at one big table and the meal, with all of the traditional fixings came out beautifully. Our wine selections included Smoking Loon Viognier, Barefoot Merlot and Cellar No.8 Pinot Noir along with an organic sparkling cider for the younger crowd.
Our 10 year old daughter said grace for us, reminding us in very simple terms just how much we have to be thankful for. We missed our family from the southwest who were not able to join us, but we kept them close at heart throughout the day.
The action continued after dinner with more racing at our home slot car track. We tease Gram all the time about her lead foot on the highway, and true to form, she blew the doors off the boys at slot car racing as well! The girls grew tired of all of the racing and had a friendly competition of their own with Wii Dance.
It was a great day all around and we hated to see it end.
