Temecula WineriesTemecula Wineries in the Temecula Valley Wine CountryTemecula Valley is located 60 miles north of San Diego and 22 miles from the California coastline. The climate is warm and sunny during the days and the evenings are cooled by the ocean winds that cross the west, making Temecula the perfect microclimate for a wine growing region. Temecula Valley is one of 107 federally recognized American Viticultural areas and a variety of grapes are successfully grown here producing some of the most exceptional wines in California.
Temecula may not be as well known as other California wine regions, but this area is definitely worth visiting. People have a home town sense of community here. The winemakers, (many of whom work in their vineyards and tasting rooms) are very proud of their wines and love to talk about all things wine! The roads leading to Temecula wine country and the Temecula Wineries are well marked, making for an easy, relaxing and pleasant drive. We have personally visited many of the Temecula Wineries and look forward to visiting them all. We are proud to include Temecula Wine Country in this southwest wine guide! ALEX'S RED BARN WINERY - Wines are handcrafted in this small winery nestled in the rolling hills in the Yakut Estate Vineyards. The Red Barn Vineyard is located in the prestigious Temecula Valley wine country, approximately twenty miles from the Pacific Coast and situated at an elevation of 1400 feet above sea level.
MORE INFO: BAILY VINEYARD & WINERY - For over 25 years Phil Baily has handcrafted premium vintage wines, all made from grapes grown on his property in the Temecula Valley. The Oxford Companion to Wine says that Baily Vineyard & Winery is one of the two "most artistically successful of the small pioneering outfits" in Temecula. On the premises is Carol's at the Tasting Room where Carol Baily is the Chef.
MORE INFO: ![]() BELLA VISTA VINEYARD & WINERY - In 2004, Imre and Gizella Cziraki purchased the former Cilurzo Winery, which was the location of Temecula's first commercial vineyard. Bella Vista makes wine using 80% estate grown grapes and 20% from other Temecula grape growers. The winery has a crush capacity of 280 tons with a production of approximately 15,000 cases of wine.

BOORMAN VINEYARDS ESTATE WINERY - Boorman Vineyards sits at an elevation of 2,000 feet in mountainous, decomposed granite soil making it perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes. Their Special Selection wines are high quality, limited productions that best exemplify the Callaway legacy. They are easy to drink, food friendly, fun wines that will please almost everyone. Winemaker's Reserve wines are for the more discerning palate. Chosen barrel by barrel for richness, depth and complexity, these wines are typically bigger, meatier wines that take longer to age. Cougar Vineyards specializes in 100% estate Italian varietals including Vermentino, Sangiovese, Aglianico, Montepulciano, Primitivo, Malvasia Bianca, Arneis, Pinot Grigio, Sagrantino, Lambrusca, Brachetto and Negro Amaro. The Cougar label was created named after Cougar Mountain in Bellevue Washington where the owners once had a home.

DANZA DEL SOL WINERY - Danza del Sol opened their tasting room in 2010 but the winery itself has been producing wines for over 25 years under the previous owner, Filsinger Wines. Danza del Sol produces premium varietal and proprietary blended red and white wines as well as Methode Champenois sparkling wine.

On the DePortola Wine Trail, the tasting room overlooks the rural countryside, sprawling vineyards, and equestrian farms. The 46 acres of vineyards were among the first to be established in the Temecula Valley in 1968. Fourteen varietals are handcrafted and include fruit sparkling wines, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, White Zinfandel, Merlot, Tempranillo, and Port. PONTE FAMILY ESTATE WINERY - Since 1984, the Ponte family has been producing wines o their 300-acre vineyards. Wines are made in small quantities and include single varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Fume Blanc, Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Barbera, and Zinfandel. Blends, sweet and sparkling wines are also produced.
The Ponte Vineyard Inn is a boutique hotel featuring the Bouquet Restaurant and an underground lounge.

Grape varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, and Sangiovese. Robert Renzoni Vineyards produces many different wine lots from these vineyard blocks.
In addition to offering wines for tasting and for sale in the tasting room, guided walking tours are also available where visitors will learn about the soil conditions, the grape varietals and what it really takes to produce excellent wines.

Under the South Coast Winery label, there is a select group of varietals grown in and around the Temecula and Southern California Appellations including Red, White and Rose wines.
Private Vineyard Villas are available for visitors who wish to experience Temecula Wine Country for a week or a weekend. The Vineyard Rose Restaurant is an elegantly decorated Tuscan-inspired dining room, bar and terrace and uses the freshest, locally grown ingredients.

TEMECULA HILLS WINERY & VINEYARD - Formerly named Windy Ridge Cellars, Temecula Hills Winery & Vineyard was established in 2000 on eleven acres where varietals such as Zinfandel, Syrah, Viognier, Mourvedre, Grenache, Sangiovese, Primativo, and Cabernet Sauvignon are produced.
Temecula Hills wines are available for tasting at Oak Mountain Winery, their sister vineyard.
